Managing & Working in Remote Teams 

 

Our workshops in managing and working in remote teams can be run either as part of a teambuilding programme or as individual, stand-alone events.  They can involve entire teams, team leaders or individuals who need to overcome the specific challenges of managing or working in remote teams.   


We help teams, team leaders and team members to: 

  • understand the challenges of working in remote teams
  • manage relationships with remote team members
  • develop techniques for communicating effectively with teams who rarely meet 

Our expert trainers will: 

  • ask existing teams to complete a pre-course 'team' diagnostic questionnaire
  • carry out telephone interviews with key players to understand team dynamics, where appropriate
  • help team members to understand the impact of culture on teams
  • help team leaders to manage team members remotely
  • work with the group to ensure that they communicate with all team members as effectively as possible
  • focus specifically on the challenges presented by tele- and video-conferencing
  • use activities or exercises to change the pace of the meeting and/or encourage learning
  • handle sensitively any unexpected behaviours and tensions that surface
  • help the team to create their own guidelines for working together
  • record key points in writing during and/or after the event
