After graduating from Cambridge with a double First in History Michael joined a leading international firm of Chartered Accountants and worked in auditing, tax consultancy and insolvency.
He joined Canning in 1984. As a member of Canning’s International Training and Development Department, he designed and delivered a wide range of courses specifically for the financial sector in almost every country in Europe.
One of Michael’s main interests is in economic and monetary policymaking, and he has taught extensively at the OECD as well as working with the highest echelons of central banking. A further interest of his is how to adapt Presentation style to different cultures and he has worked on a number of major projects with Canning clients in this field including Schneider Electric, UBS, Sanofi-aventis and Renault.
Michael is also responsible for Canning’s Writing Skills courses. Besides his experience at the OECD he has been responsible in the last 5 years for delivering major writing skills programmes at Pfizer, Philip Morris, and AstraZeneca.
Michael is also jointly responsible for Canning’s internal resource management.
